27th Set of Clemency Decisions Released by Gov. Rauner

12/17/2018

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has released his 27th batch of executive clemency decisions. It is part his plan to clear out all pending clemency petitions before he leaves office on January 14th. This batch of decisions includes 10 granted and 286 denied. The petitions granted came in the form of pardon with authorization to expunge their criminal record. Among the offenses were domestic battery, burglary, and theft.

One of my clients was included in the 10. To the others congratulations on receiving clemency! To the others, your record may be eligible for sealing, or you may seek to refile in a year.

I was one of the people granted clemency. I am very grateful and humbled. It has been a long journey. Thank you to Mr Bryant Chavez for maintaining this blog. I checked it daily for years. Good luck to those of you that continue to wait.

Did you or anyone get a notice in the mail yet you received a pardon or you didn’t?

Has anyone received any type of notice by mail or a phone call from the clemency petition review board as to if you received a pardon or you didn’t receive one. I think I read they notify you either way. It’s already into the new year.

Hello , my name is jim ,I was pardoned on 11/23/16. I was called and told my pardon was approved. It took about 10 days for the mail to deliver the certificate. Then about 6 weeks to expunge. best to you;
